Leishmania
A parasite spread through sandflies, commonly affecting hyraxes, canids rodents but also humans. When in contact, they will immediately start reproducing in your skin, causing an intense pain around the bite like tissue being eaten away very quickly. It will take over a year to heal even if you’re free from the parasite.
