The Forbidden City, China
The design of the Emperor’s home in Mulan is actually based on the design of the Forbidden City in Beijing, China. Although it is said that the Forbidden City wouldn’t be built over 1000 years later because Mulan is set during the Han Dynasty which lasted from 200 BC.
