15 World’s Amazing Circus Sideshow Performers

Myrtle Corbin (The Four-Legged Woman)

Myrtle Corbin was born in May 12, 1868 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. She was born a dipygus meaning she had two separate pelvises side by side from the waist down. Each of her smaller inner legs was paired with one of her outer legs. She can move all her legs but they are all too weak for walking. She joined the sideshow circuit with the name “Four-Legged Girl from Texas” when she was 13 years old. Her popularity was likely linked to her showmanship, she would often dress the extra limbs with socks and shoes matching her own and it really gave her a truly surreal appearance. She was so popular that she was able to earn $450 dollars per week.
