CATHEDRAL OF MARINGA, PARANA , BRAZIL
The Cathedral of Maringa is a modern church built in 1972 and is the tallest church building in South America. It was conceived by Archbishop Jaime Luiz Coelho and designed by architect Jose Augusto Belluci. The church was built between 1959 and 1972. The church has a conical shape with a base of 50 meters diameter and a single circular nave of 38 meters in diameter. It can accommodate up to 4,700 parishioners.
