Anne Parrish
American novelist, Anne Parrish, found one of her favorites, Jack Frost and Other Stories, while browsing bookstores in Paris. She then showed the book to her husband and told him how much she loved it as a child. Upon opening the book, he saw an inscription on the flyleaf that read, “ Anne Parrish, 209 N. Weber Street, Colorado Springs.” In short, it was her book.
King Louis’ Bad Day
When King Louis the XVI was a child he was warned by an astrologist to always be careful on the 21st day of each month. On June 21,1791, King Louis and his wife were both arrested following the French revolution. On September 21, 1791,the French abolished the institution of royalty and proclaimed itself a republic and on January 21,1793,King Louis was executed by guillotine.
