The Treasures of Cocos Island

The Cocos Island is a UNESCO Heritage Site and according to legends, it is the final resting place of millions of dollars of buried pirate treasures. The most infamous of these treasures is the Treasure of Lima which is worth an estimated 160 million pounds. But William Thompson who was hired to take the treasure which included more than 100 gold statues, 200 chest of gold and countless bars of gold and silver from Peru to Mexico instead of transporting it, he stole it and was rumored to have buried it on the island. Up until now, it’s never been found.
